Last week on the site of Qazpatent held a round table on “The relevance of legal protection of innovations in the field of agro-industry and their commercialization. Kazakhstan’s accession to the UPOV (UPOV)”.

During the meeting there were discussed the topical issues of innovation in agro-industry, the latest achievements, the relevance of legal protection and the possibility of commercialization, as well as the importance of the entry of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV). The event also included presentations on the new object – geographical indications.
The participants actively discussed the accession of Kazakhstan to UPOV, revealing both positive aspects and possible risks.
